Seneca Veteran's Banner Project

Applications for the 2026 Veteran’s Banner Project are now open and must be received by Tuesday, July 7, 2026. We currently have 10 banner spots available for the second year of the project. Ten applicants will be randomly selected on Thursday, July 16, 2026, to fill the available spots. Please remember that submitting an application does not guarantee a banner placement, as recipients are selected at random based on the number of available locations.

If selected, the cost is $250, which covers all four years of the banner’s display. The fee includes the cost of the banner itself, a donation to the Temple of Honor Military Museum, and a small reserve fund in case a banner needs replacement during the rotation period. Payments will be made to Seneca Downtown Impact and are tax-deductible.

Selected applicants will have two weeks to submit a photo of the Veteran and payment to the Seneca Area Chamber and Downtown Impact. Families are also welcome to include a short biography of their Veteran to be added to the Military Museum’s collection.

The Seneca Veteran’s Banner Project began in 2024 and is a partnership between the Seneca Area Chamber and Downtown Impact and the  Nemaha County Historical Society Temple of Honor Military Museum. Additional support is provided by The City of Seneca for installing the banners. In 2025 funds for some of the additional banner brackets were provided by a grant from the Nemaha County STEP Foundation, including support from the Chad Baker Memorial Fund.
